Take a look at @SriRafelsia's Tweet: https://twitter.com/SriRafelsia/status/864700732938698753?s=09

When a child is not speaking spontaneously, is it more important to teach the child how to speak or is it more important to focus on formal education? We know that information is typically processed using language. So when there is a lack of language ability, where should we focus? That is what applied language therapy is and that is part of special education.

Applied language therapy is about teaching a child how and when to use language. Is it tedious? Yes.. Can it be rushed? No! It has to be done in a natural way, so the child learns how to use words. It needs to be all the time, everytime and everywhere...No short cuts! It needs to be facilitated and helped along..its a process. everyone working with the child and both parents and every member of the family plays parts is facilitating this language application process. No exceptions.

Is having speech therapy once a week going to help? Absolutely NOT! It needs to be done at least 3 times a week. If your therapist is too busy, get a new one! Someone who has more time and is more dedicated to the process.
